ZAMBOANGA CITY, May 30 (PNA) -– Close to 200
city and municipal councilors are gathered in this city for the three-day
regional assembly of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL).
The three-day assembly, which is being held at
a hotel in this city, reeled off Thursday and ends Saturday.
City Councilor Myra Paz Abubakar said Friday
that those attending the assembly are City and Municipal Councilors from the
provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay.
Abubakar is the elected the PCL-Zamboanga
Peninsula chairperson.
The three provinces comprises a total of three
cities and 67 municipalities.
Abubakar said they will tackle important issues
and concerns and other important matters about the duties and responsibilities
of the local legislators.
She said they are going to establish a PCL
hotline to be able to provide assistance to its members in need of help as well
as come up with benefits such as medical and death benefits.
She said the assembly’s guest of honor is PCL
Secretary-General Benito Javierto Brizuela of Lucena City.
She said the resource speakers in the assembly
would include officials from the Commission on Audit, Bureau of Internal
Revenue, and Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Isabelle Climaco-Salazar hosted on Thursday night a dinner for the PCL Regional
