MANILA, May 23 (PNA) --
Malacañang on Friday condemned the killing of a broadcast journalist based in
Mindanao and ordered police authorities to immediately apprehend the
perpetrators of the crime.
”We condemn the killing of
radio broadcaster Sammy Oliverio in Digos City, Davao del Sur this morning, 23
May,” said Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio
Coloma Jr.
Oliverio, a blocktimer of UM
Broadcasting Network’s Radio Ukay, was shot to death by still unidentified
assailant along Del Pilar Street.
”The PNP (Philippine National
Police) has been directed to exert maximum efforts to track the assailants and
bring them before the bar of justice,” Coloma said.
Oliverio was the third mediaman
killed in Davao del Sur. (PNA)
