ZAMBOANGA City—While walking along
Tomas Claudio Street, the victim Glosia Horton Cerilo’s necklace worth P25,000
was snatched by suspect last July 8, police report said.
The victim, Cerilo, 62, and widow is
living in Barangay Mercedes in this city.
Police said in a statement, the
snatching happened the victim together with her niece were walking along the street
when the suspect suddenly pulled the necklace and fled away.
Police Eduardo Rosete and Baltazar who
were detailed in area arrested the suspect but fail to recover the gold
necklace. The suspect threw the jewelry along the road during the arrest.
Authority indentified the suspect as
Rodel Naseda Luyao, 30, married and resident of Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The suspect was detained at the police
office detention cell while a case for robbery is being prepared to file
against him in court.
