JOLO,
Sulu – The Mayoralty candidate of Liberal Party of Lugus town Al-Zhudurie
Asmadun here won against Una Partylist bet Hadar Hajiri during the automated
national and local elections last May 13.
He
garnered 3,341 votes out of about 8,300 registered voters not include one
barangay due of some discrepancies – the 375 ballots is intended for
Maguindanao.
According
to election officer Kabir Salian this will not affect the votes of Al-Zhudurie
Asmadun.
His
vice mayor Limtajar B. Hassan also got a total of 3510 votes and won.
Meanwhile,
Una Partylist bet Hadar Hajiri said in an interview he filed a petition for a special
election in two barangay in the municipality such as Laha and Rugasan.
“I
will not surrender to gather evidences against the allegation that all my
voters did not cast their votes due to small incidents which had moved former
mayor Asmadun to stop the voting process in the place,” Hadar added.
He
said his lawyer had filed a petition to have a special election in the two barangay.
But
the winning candidate Al-Zhudurie Asmadun said that his proclamation in Lugus
last May 14 was final and would perform his duty as mayor.
“I
will do my job as mayor for Lugusanun because I am their proclaimed father,
such, I will implement development in the place,” Asmadun added.
He
told reporters his father, former mayor, was his mentor, adviser and of course
his hero in the field of politics.
