We
welcome the Department of Tourism (DOT) report on foreign visitor arrivals for
the first quarter of this year reaching 1,271,579 or 10.76% growth from
1,148,072 in the same period in 2012. Since December last year, monthly foreign
visitor arrivals have breached 400,000 marking the first time in Philippine
Tourism that so many international travelers have come to our shores within a
four-month stretch: December (442,088 arrivals), January (436,079 arrivals),
February (418,108 arrivals), and March (417,392 arrivals). This is promising
news for the country’s tourism sector that expects to attract 5.5 million
arrivals in 2013. We invite more of our friends in the international community
to come visit our country and experience how it truly is more fun in the
Philippines.
