MIDSALIP, Zamboanga del Sur Philippines —A
village chieftain reported to the police station here that a man was shot to
death by a gunman last February 12 in Barangay Pisompongan in this town, police
said.
Victim identified as Pending Mansip,
54, married and barangay tanod of Sitio Upper Pawan, this barangay, was wounded
on his hip and died at the crime scene.
Police recovered five bullet
casings of M14 rifle at the area but the motive of the killing is still
unknown.
Police have launched a manhunt operation to determine the
identity of the suspect and the motive of the attack.
