LABANGAN, Zamboanga Del Sur—One Edmund Estepa Corpuz has
been missing since November 25, police said.
Investigators said that Corpuz, 31 and a resident of
Barangay Dalapang in this town, went and got his relative at Zamboanga Del Sur
National High School in Pagadian City last November 25. However, he had failed
to return home.
An abduction was confirmed by relatives when a call was
made by an alleged kidnapper asking certain amount in exchange of the victim’s
release.
Pagadian City, capital of Zamboanga del Sur, is 7
kilometers west of Labangan.
Zamboanga del Sur police has created a special task group and
launched an operation to track down the location of the victim and the identity
of the perpetrator.
The Anti-Kidnapping Group is also helping on the rescue
operation.
Kidnapping in this place is uncommon. —With Judys Cogo
