The Police Regional Office 9 under the leadership of Police Chief Superintendent Juanito B. Vaño, Jr., CESE, Regional Director, is celebrating 18th Police Community Relations Month, 2013.
The Police Regional Office 9 under the leadership of Police Chief Superintendent Juanito B. Vaño, Jr., CESE, Regional Director, is celebrating 18th Police Community Relations Month, 2013.
The activity is a month long
celebration, wherein, the entire Philippine National Police Organization is
celebrating. It commences on July 1,
2013 and to culminate on July 31, 2013.
The observance of the celebration
of Police Community Relations Month is
mandated by Presidential Proclamation Number 764, which declares July of every
year as Public Relations Month. The
National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) is the lead agency.
On this year’s celebration, the
Command directed its activities towards enhancing public awareness on the
crucial role of the Police Regional Office 9 in crime prevention. It also serves as an avenue in soliciting
community support and their participation on the various programs of the Police
Regional Office 9
There are several activities are
being lined-up to be conducted by the Command in connection with month long
activities. These are as follows: Muslims elders Consultative Assembly, Drug
Abuse Prevention and Education Symposium, Social Media Specialist/Officer
Seminar Workshop and Message Development workshop for Street Children and
Juvenile Delinquents.
As a manifestation of reaffirming its
commitment towards the police organization in connection with the PCR Month,
Police Regional Office 9 has embarked its kick-off ceremony at Camp Gen.
Colonel Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City with Police Director General
Ernesto V, Belen, Retired, President and CEO/Board Member, Public Safety Savings
and Loan Association Incorporated (PSSLAI), as the Guest of Honor and Speaker
during the said opening ceremony.
The Guest of Honor has afforded
with the arrival honors, wherein, he conducted trooping the lines.
The program was started at 8:00 AM
today, with the mass singing of the Philippine National Anthem to be led by the
Police Regional Office 9 Band, as the opening program. Police Chief Superintendent Mario Biong
Yanga, CEO VI, Deputy Regional Director Administration, welcoming the Guest, visitors
and participants of the said opening program ceremony.
There were several activities
highlighted during the kick-off program of the PCR Month 2013 conducted at the
Police Regional Headquarters. These were
the turned-over of ten (10) sets of computer donated by the Public Safety and
Savings Loan Association, Incorporated to the Police Regional Office 9. Said computers were handed personally to the
Police Regional Office 9 Chief, by Police Director Ernesto V Belen, retired,
President and CEO/Board member of PSSLAI.
Awarding of the prizes to the
winners of the month long Summer League Sports 2013 activities on the different
ball games which were sponsored by
Police Regional Office 9 was also highlighted the opening program of the PCR
Month.
Police Director General Ernesto
V. Belen, retired in his closing messages, he gave emphasise the importance on
the observations of PCR Month.
Accordingly, it serves as the
conduit for the Philippine National Police in soliciting the support of the
community towards the attainment of the assigned tasks.
The activity was culminated with
the tree planting activities, which was spearheaded by the Public Safety and
Savings Loan Association, Incorporated Chief Executive Officer and with
fruitful result. (PR)
