Furigay said it’s like a “hulog ng langit” program from national government.

“Imagine in 1 snap of my finger there are 6 payaos on the water. I am amazed and surprised because I didn’t submit any proposals nor request to have payaos or projects from BFAR but here they are, they deliver it door to door,” the mayor said.

“I am very thankful to our government especially the BFAR, through Director Perez in giving always the priority to the neediest small-fishermen.”

Each payao’s produces 10 tons of different kind of fish more or less and it will benefit 32 families.

“It is a big helps to our local fishers that cannot afford to put-up payao’s for their livelihood because it is very expensive to the small fisher-folks. Lamitan also produced thousand of kilos of high-valued fish and sardines daily,” said the agency.

BFAR-ARMM Director Janice Musali also said that the agri-pinoy of ARMM is also the priority projects of Governor Mujiv Hataman especially on war-torn areas in the place.

She expressed appreciation over the initiated of the national government in giving the 6 payaos to Lamitan government as an initial release from the national government out of 120 payaos intended for the autonomous region.
