ZAMBOANGA CITY, March 25
(PNA) - Four people were killed while 15 others were wounded in a grenade
explosion late Saturday in downtown Jolo, the capital of Sulu.
Col. Cirilito Sobejana,
commander of Joint Task Force Sulu, said the incident occurred around 7:10 p.m.
Saturday at Katrina Bakeshop and Grocery in Sitio Lambayong, Barangay Busbus,
Jolo.
Two were instantly killed
when a grenade was tossed into the bakery. Two others expired while undergoing
medical treatment in the hospital.
The 15 wounded victims
were also rushed to the hospital.
"A suspect was
arrested and now in the custody of Jolo Municipal Police Station. Motive is
still under unknown," Sobejana said.
The police said the
possible motive was retaliation to a shooting incident on Friday that injured a
child in Jolo.
Police said the suspected
grenade thrower is relative of the child. (PNA)
