Zamboanga del Sur readies for 62nd Founding Anniversary

Preparations are underway for the 8 days celebration to commemorate the 62^nd Founding Anniversary of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur wherein number of activities has been lined up starting September 10 until September 17, this year with the theme that upholds the tenet of unity and understanding towards peace and development among people of the province quoted as “2014: Malahutayong Programa, Gipaluyuhan sa Katawhan, Kalambuan sa Lalawigan”.

In gratitude for the success and accomplishments gained, the Provincial Government celebrates Araw ng Zamboanga del Sur where all the stakeholders gather to witness and showcase talents, skills, products and programs of the province. 

This activity highlights the founding anniversary festivities, Batang Pinoy, Search for Miss JHCSC and the annual recognition of the most Outstanding Zambosurians to inspire others to do better. Executive Order No. 44, otherwise known as the Philippine Youth Games–Batang Pinoy, serves as the national sports competition program for children, and is envisioned to address the need for a grassroots sports program centered on values formation inherent in the practice of sports and play.

OIC Provincial Secretary and Chairperson of the 62^nd Zambosur Founding Anniversary Miss Analyn Absin stressed out during the Pakisayod sa Alindahaw program last July 13, 2014 that among the major activities lined up this year are as follows, to wit: Sep’t. 10- Opening Ceremonies; Agri-Trade Fair Opening to showcase the different agricultural and commercial products of the province; Organic Cooking Contest; Parade and Opening of Batang Pinoy and Governor’s Night to be participated by Local Chief Executives by all provinces and cities all over Mindanao; Sep’t 11- Peace and Order Night participated by all Military and PNP Officials and Department Heads; Sep’t 12- Presentation of Candidates and Talent Competition of the participating 25 candidates of Miss JH Cerilles State College; Sep’t 13- Teachers’ and Law Enforcers’ Night; Sep’t  14- Liga ng Barangay Convention (Awarding of Most Outstanding Punong Barangay); Sep’t 15- Womens’ Night and Festival Dance to be participated by all Local Government Units; Sep’t 16- JHCSC Affair (Search for Miss JHCSC and Awarding of Most Outstanding Zambosurian & Winners of Different Competitions) Guest of Honor & Speaker,  Senator JV Ejercito; Sep’t 17- 62^nd Anniversary Program Proper and BERT General Assembly Guest of Honor and Speaker, Vice-President of the Republic of the Philippines HON. JEJOMAR C. BINAY.

The current administration wants to focus on the integration and coordination of various initiatives under one development framework of the provincial government, which can be summarized as a total human development coupled with enhancement of infrastructure for socio-economic progress. 

The Province of Zamboanga del Sur has a great potential in its continuous good governance, development and improvement in line with the 7 Point agenda of the present administration, that’s why Zambosurians continue to support, help and be united as one community. 

This year’s Founding Anniversary 2014 is another year to have a great opportunity to improve more and more what good things have started before and to recognize the Most Outstanding Zambosurians who continuously promote great example in their field of expertise in ensuring their progress. 

The marking of the 60th Anniversary of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur is clearly a remarkable milestone worth celebrating through the provincial leadership of Governor Antonio H. Cerilles for spurring the province development for showcasing culture and tradition.
