Jolo, Sulu – Police Superintendent Roel Lamiing of Sulu Provincial Deputy  officer identified the Four (4) towns  under  Intense Political Rivalry (IPR) or hotspot  due to massive encounter between the armed groups and  politicians.
P/Superintendent Roel Lamiing

Lamiing identified the municipalities of Omar, Pangutaran, Tongkil  and Estino while the other municipalities are under observation, said police. “Our policemen are ready to respond anytime when the police is needed and we have also a Quick Action Force (QRF) composed of 100-men in uniform for our immediate respond  team on whatever atrocities happened especially election related”, said Lamiing.

Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is aiming for ‘zero’ failure of elections in the entire Autonomous Region, this coming May.

Lawyer Ray Sumalipao, regional election director in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) emphasized this during the recently concluded Lanao del Sur Stakeholders Conference for Peaceful, Free and Fair 2013 Elections saying that the main enemy in the province during elections is the failure of elections.

To make elections work, he said two task forces will be created to roam around the province and monitor the electoral process. He said these task forces will be composed of personnel from the Comelec, Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
