With
recommendation from the Crisis Management Committee (Resolution No. 1), the
City Council unanimously approved last night Ordinance 418, implementing FORCED
EVACUATION as a resort when a disaster or emergency has been declared in the
City of Zamboanga and danger or loss of lives becomes imminent. Barangays
forced on preemptive evacuation among residents include RIO HONDO, STA.
BARBARA, STA. CATALINA, TALON-TALON, MAMPANG and other barangays in the present
hostage crisis and armed conflict between government troops and MNLF forces.
